Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg is the founder of The Ninevites, a South-African design studio and collaborative platform which produces “beautiful things” while communicating stories of black culture.
Using mohair and Peruvian sheep’s wools, sourced from the Eastern Cape farms and working, the studio commission local artisans to celebrate their craft by dying, spinning and weaving raw fibres into modern products.
As well as preserving the heritage and handicraft of South African weaving, the studio collaborates with organisations to host workshops for the community.
