Mawuena Kattah

Mawuena Kattah is a multi-disciplinary artist working with painting, ceramics and textiles.

Kattah’s work draws upon her personal archive of family photos and Ghanaian heritage and has been exhibited in major art galleries and museums in the UK, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Arts Council’s National Collection.

Placing people and patterns centre of her practice, Kattah’s work combines energetic compositions with colour often through mesmeric installations that often mix textiles with painting and ceramics. Her work has also been included in a group show, ‘Criminal Ornamentation’ curated by Yinka Shonibare MBE.
